Our cabinet maker was very nervous about installing bamboo countertops until we convinced him that, yes, we knew it was an unusual choice, but that's why we chose it. Bamboo is good looking, it's very hard and it's a grass, which means that it grows very quickly and, unlike exotic hardwoods, is a very renewable resource.

So far, we are thrilled with it.
